Class Description: Part I (10:00am - 12:00pm): Practicing Disorientation A physical, sweaty class about going upside down, in and out of the ground, throwing ourselves off-kilter and into the oblique, finding our multiple fluid bodies, and working from sensation (especially working from outside of sight). There will be some highly structured improvisation, some partner work, and perhaps a big old phrase or two.
Part II (1:00pm - 3:00pm): Practicing Location Working at locations both inside and outside, we will spend our afternoon hours practicing and crafting scores. We will attend rigorously to a state of trust + commit whole heartedly to readiness in order to locate ourselves and our movement choices within the moment unfolding. We will look towards all that is tangible (the body, decaying materials, architecture, light, already existing pathways in the natural world) as well as imaginative makings to create tiny site works for ourselves and the group. Notebook + sunscreen required!
